Child & Family Safeguarding Statement
How the Foundation protects the children and families connected to its work.
The child comes first
Every decision the Foundation makes begins with the safety and long-term well-being of the child, ahead of any other consideration, including the preferences of an adult applicant or referrer.
The Foundation does not provide direct care
The Foundation does not place children, supervise contact, provide housing, or deliver direct services to children. It provides financial support to plans established and carried out by others.
Information handling
The Foundation limits the information it holds about a child to what is necessary to verify a request. It does not publish identifying information about a child, and does not use a child’s circumstances in fundraising material.
Images and stories
No photograph or story involving a child is published without informed, documented consent from the adult with legal authority to give it. Consent may be withdrawn.
Reporting concerns
If a concern arises about a child’s immediate safety, contact local law enforcement or your local child-protection authority. The Foundation is not an emergency service and cannot respond to emergencies.
