Financial Assistance Disclaimer
The limits of what financial support from the Foundation is, and is not.
Assistance is discretionary
The Foundation cannot commit to a request in advance. Making a request, or being referred for one, does not create a right to receive support, and the Foundation will not be able to meet every need it sees.
The Foundation does not practice law
The Foundation does not provide legal advice or representation, does not direct litigation, does not appear before any court, and does not select or supervise any professional a family engages.
The Foundation does not determine outcomes
The Foundation does not determine custody or placement, does not decide whether a child should be reunified or adopted, and does not substitute its judgment for that of a court or a qualified child-welfare professional.
Support of a step is not an opinion
Where the Foundation funds a step, that funding reflects a review against its charitable purposes. It is not an endorsement of any party, and not a statement about what any court should decide.
No promised timeline or amount
The Foundation makes no representation about how quickly a request will be reviewed, whether it will be approved, or what amount may be provided. Resources are finite.
Conditions on approved assistance
Approved assistance is subject to documented financial controls and is generally directed to a provider rather than to an individual. The Foundation may withdraw or discontinue assistance.
